Introduction/Ethos

Lucaz Design’s guiding philosophy is rooted in enduring form, material intelligence, and a long-term view of value.

The studio operates as a design-led venture where authorship, proportion, and material choice are treated as strategic decisions rather than stylistic gestures. The work begins with lighting and objects, with furniture evolving from the same spatial logic.

All work is designed by Cora Lucaz and produced to order in collaboration with specialised European workshops. This structure supports precision, adaptability, and accountability throughout development.

Lucaz Design is not conceived for speed or indiscriminate volume. It is structured as a scalable system intended to preserve judgement over time — combining the sensitivity of craft with operational discipline.

Each piece is developed against defined technical, environmental, and material criteria. Decisions are measured against use, structural integrity, and cultural relevance rather than seasonal cycles. The objective is work that maintains authority within space.

Material selection is foundational. Natural stone, noble metals, hand-worked glass, and other dense, tactile materials are employed structurally rather than ornamentally. Colour is treated with equal discipline — not as surface decoration, but as a material condition that shapes depth, light, and spatial atmosphere.
